Collagen Matcha Latte
My favourite coffee swap when I feel the caffeine angst kicks in.
Matcha Green Tea is one of my favourite discoveries of the last couple of years. And after trying it in various forms from ice-cream, to cake to a brewed pot of tea, I found my favourite, comforting version by far.
The creamy, sweet and energising latte, that you can make for yourself at home in a flash. Swapping a coffee shop brew for this could make you feel a whole lot better. It is an expensive tin of tea to buy, but you use a tiny amount for each cup and it lasts forever, and is a whole lot cheaper than a high street coffee every day. Keep the tin in the fridge to ensure it stays fresh.
There are plenty to choose from, I love this one (I've had it for months and I think it's worth every penny):
Finest Japanese Organic Matcha Green Tea
But if you want to spend less, this looks like a good option
Drunk in Japan forever as a ceremonial drink for warriors and royalty, it is now popular everywhere and been shown to give you energy, increase thermogenesis (calorie-burning) and alertness, whilst also imbuing calm and relaxation. What a combination!
With an incredible quantity of antioxidants in matcha, you are drinking the ground powdered tea leaves, you get so much more of the benefits than a brew of green tea. With half the caffeine of coffee, but added benefits of L-Theanine, an amino acid that balances the caffeine and means the resulting energy lasts longer.
