Egg Nog (less sugar more flavour)

  • 250 ml milk of choice (almond works really well)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla paste (or extract)
  • Large pinch grated nutmeg
  • Pinch ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 medjool date, pitted
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 heaped tbsp cashews
  • 2 ice cubes
  • (Shot of brandy or rum for those in need of a tipple)
Method Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and whizz for 1-2 minutes until really smooth, frothy and creamy. Serve in glass tumblers with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
